Marathi dept of this college is very well known and established & active dept. Prof. Dattatray Patwardhan was first HOD of Marathi Dept. He establised Marathi Wangmay Mandal to encourage student’s ability and skill. From 1982 to 2017 Dr. Saroj Patankar was HOD . & from 2017 June Mrs.Neha Sawant is HOD . They also started Marathi Abhyas Mandal. They organized various guest lectures for Marathi Abhyas Mandal. Also organized various acivities for Marathi Wangmay Mandal to encourage students skill of art and culture. Because we have all types of students, especially our students come from very lower middle class family also. So we organize different activities for them. Dept of Hindi, Marathi , English & Gujarati together were organise मि श्र भा षी का व्यसंमेलन on the occasion of 14 th September , Hindi Bhasha Divas. It was a Grand program for Many years. Marathi Dept always try to Develop a clear understanding of social institutional structures, systems, procedures, and policies existing across cultures, and interpret, compare and contrast ideas in diverse social- cultural contexts, to engage reasonably with diverse groups.

Objectives

    Our first goal and objective is Development of the student’s and try to make them a goog human being. To teach them not only acadamic syllabus but also Moral values and ethics.

  • Acquire and apply conceptual knowledge of Marathi Literature, Linguistics, Forms of various Literatures and the co-relation of culture & society with Literature and Language.
  • To practical life situation by using the wisdom learn from literature, can inculcate modern value system.
  • Critically investigate the problems of society and learn to resolve them through the literature point of view.
  • Students can explore it’s creative skills and create a masterpiece of any literary form. Plus we will learn the critical evaluative ability.

    Departmental Associations

    We have Marathi Wangmaya Mandal& Marathi Abhyas Mandal. In Marathi Wangmaya Mandal we organise cultural events such as Procession on the occasion of ASHADHI EKADASHI. We organise various competitions such as Eassy writing , Poetry recitation, Mono acting , Abhivachan , Play reading , Abhang Gayan , Crossword , News reading , Elocution competition etc. We celebrate Marathi Bhasha Sanvardhan Pandharavada from 14th Jan to 28th January, Marathi Raj Bhasha Gaurav din on 27 th Feb. Also organise Guest lecture on the occassion of Vachan Prerana din on 15 th Oct . We organize different cultural programs to encourage students skill of art and performance.

    We also organise activities of Marathi Abhyas Mandal. Marathi Abhyas Mandal’s programs are related acadamic base , especially based on the syllabus of Marathi subject. So we invite those author or poets, writer whose books are in the syllabus. We invited Famous Marathi Poets late Narayan Surve, Shankar Vaidya, Mangesh Padgoankar , Vasant Bapat etc. Also invited young generation writer Smt Neeraja, Sysilia Carvhalo . Varjesh Solanki, Manaswini Lata Ravindra etc . We organise screen shows of Marathi Dramas such as Ti Fularani, Thank you Mr. Glad, Satyashodhak , Vichcha Mazi Puri Kara etc. We also organise Study tour and field visit at the places related to syllabus, such as Dehu Alandi, Sajjangadh, Mahanubhav Math , Pagoda etc.

    Acadamic syllabus of Marathi subject is especially based on Regional Literature and Regional languages.

    • FYBA Marathi compulasory:we introduce experinces of life through the Regional literature. Recognize and appreciate the diversity of human experience and thought, and apply intellect and creativity to contemporary scenario, to promote individual growth by practicing lifelong learning. Demonstrate writing and reading skill of news and reports , through that they recognise national and international issues.
    • FYBA Marathi Ancillary:Demonstrate understanding and skills of application of knowledge of historical and contemporary issues in the social and linguistic settings with a transdisciplinary perspective to make an informed judgement. Also introduce local & national leval of Arts and Literature.
    • SYBA syllabus:Teach them importance of Moral values and ethics through literature . Also introduce different Regional languagues and dialects. Trying to develop skill of expressing through writing and speaking on local issues . Discuss Social & Cultural issues through literature.
    • TYBA syllabus:Analyse and evaluate theories of individual and social behaviour in the familiar contexts and extrapolate to unfamiliar contexts in order to resolve contemporary issues. Explore critical issues, ideas, phenomena and debates to define problems or to formulate hypotheses; as well as analyze evidences to,formulate an opinion, identify strategies, evaluate outcomes, draw conclusions and/or develop and implement solutions. Also discuss impact of Globalization on Marathi Literature , Marathi Language And culture as well as human nature. Also evaluate.
