The Department of Physics is affiliated with the University of Mumbai and established in the year of inception of college. At present Department offered undergraduate and postgraduate Degree courses in Physics.
Through our Bachelor, Master Programs in Physics, the Department is committed to: -
The Department is devoted to providing good quality education and hands on experiment to all its undergraduate, postgraduate students who will become eminent leaders in the area of science and emergent technology by using Raspberry-Pi and EXP EYEs alongwith core physics.
The Department aims to produce Physicist from YOUNG ASPIRING MINDS, who have assimilated excellent practical, research, and teaching skills along with scientific intelligent and ethical code of conduct required for the multifaceted development of the nation in line up with four core values of NAAC viz. Fostering Global Competencies among Students. Inculcating a Value System among Students. Promoting the Use of Technology. Quest for Excellence.
La Physique 3.0 was conducted in February by the Department of Physics and Bhavan's Physics Society. The third edition was conducted this year after the gap of two academic years due to the lockdown. Bhavan's Physics Society was introduced this year. The first student representatives were elected through elections. These elections took place in December. Hence the society was formed of 9 elected members and co-op members. One of the main goals of BPS is to bring together physics students. BPS is also responsible for organizing cultural and co-curricular activities taking place in the department. La Physique was the first departmental fest organized by the society.
The preparations for the fest started soon after the declaration of the society. Interested elected members were given their respective duties for the fest. The organizing committee distributed its work among the following departments: Events (Physics and Non-Physics), Experiences, Hospitality, Tech and logs, PR, Creatives, Sponsorship and Marketing.
A total of 12 events were organized in which students could participate. These events were both Physics and non-physics based.Khel Khel ke Batao (Non-Physics events) were a group of competitive events. These encouraged participants to showcase their co-curricular skills. Physics Wysics (Physics Events) were those competitions where participants used applications of Physics to win and learn new concepts.
