Physics Department

Overview

Junior college Physics department is located on the first floor of the Main building of Bhavan’s college. Physics department (Junior) has two sections. Viz. Aided and Unaided. At the moment sixteen full time Assistant teachers are serving in the Aided Physics section while two full time Assistant teachers are serving in Unaided Physics section. Theory syllabus is taught by teachers in classroom whereas the practical component of the syllabus requires a well-equipped lab. Junior college physics lab is a spacious lab which caters to about 120 / 130 students at a time. The junior college physics lab offers practical’s session to about 1200 F.Y.J.C. science and about 1200 S.Y.J.C. science students. Physics lab is equipped with latest facilities which consists of big tables for the working area and setting up the equipment and apparatus. Lab is well ventilated with sufficient lighting facilities, so that students can do the experiments in free environment. Lab is equipped with teaching aids required for explanation and demonstration of practical’s to the students. Physics lab is regularly updated as per the requirements whenever there are any modifications in the practical work as suggested by the Maharashtra state board.

During time period of Corona pandemic, not only the theory lectures but also the practical’s were conducted online. Junior college physics teachers shot the Experimental work of every stipulated experiment for students and used it on online platform for understanding of students. Physics department teacher’s make it a point to solve the difficulties of the students on a priority and personal basis.
